The Terasology Launcher is the official launcher application for Terasology - an external program written using JavaFX which is capable of easily downloading, installing, and running different versions of the game. According to a user report, the launcher freezes in case there is not enough space left on the drive Terasology should be downloaded to. This can be prevented by checking the available disk space before the download occurs.

Definition of 'Done'

• A pull request is submitted adding the following features:
  • The launcher checks for the remaining space on the drive Terasology is to be downloaded to.
  • If there is not enough space to download and install Terasology, the user is warned and the operation is aborted.
  • Optional but nice to have: a warning sign is also displayed in the launcher's interface when this occurs.

Where to start?

• The getTotalSpace() and getFreeSpace() of Java's File class are an easy way to fetch the remaining space on a hard drive.
